Tyson Fury, the former world heavyweight boxing champion, has announced his retirement from boxing. This comes three weeks after he lost his rematch against Oleksandr Usyk in Saudi Arabia. Fury failed to win the unified world titles, losing by unanimous decision.

Fury shared the news in a short video on social media while sitting in his car. He said, "Hi everybody. I’m going to keep this short and sweet. I would like to announce my retirement from boxing. It’s been a blast, I’ve loved every single minute. Dick Turpin wore a mask. God bless everybody, see you on the other side.”

This is not the first time Fury has retired. He said he was retiring in 2022 after beating Dillian Whyte, but he came back later that year to fight Derek Chisora and eventually faced Usyk. Fury also announced retirements in 2013 and 2017 but returned to the ring each time.

The 36-year-old’s announcement comes as many people were wondering if he would fight British heavyweight Anthony Joshua in the future.
