Zigazoo, a short-video sharing app modeled after TikTok, is launching a platform geared specifically toward Gen Z. This platform is attracting both new creators and users due to its toxic-free environment.

Users over the age of 13 will be the target audience for the new app, while Generation Alpha (those between the ages of 3 and 12) will continue to use the original app.

Zigazoo, which goes live on March 25, is only open to invites, has a platform similar to video threads, and you can't comment on video posts. Instead, users can post a short video as a response to the video post.

The company is of the opinion that the concept aids in decreasing negative trolling on the platform.

Zigazoo incorporates numerous security highlights like confidential records, human-in the know balance and a calculation that advances energy.

This new app will use auto-moderation software, but parental consent or supervision will not be required, unlike with Zigazoo Kids.

In addition, the Gen Z app will allow users to create a "vibe" video that others can respond to and include searchable music, trending sounds, and other features.

The app will feature a select group of creators, including the cast of Netflix's "That's Show" and other well-known TikTok creators like Jack Wright, Alana Clements, and actors like Ava Kolker.

Zigazoo will also have entertainment channels and a wide range of content. The new app's toxic-free environment, which is prevalent on many social media platforms, particularly TikTok, draws developers.

"I think there’s a lot coming into view for everyone where maybe there should be a more critical eye [around social media], and there should be a place where people can go and feel good about themselves," says Zak Ringelstein, co-founder of the app. "We want to see a better social media and less toxic social media, and I think the time is really ripe for this moment." Therefore, we are extremely excited for our launch."
